Pay
Hourly wage ranges between $30.00 to $32.00, depending on qualifications and experience.

Shift and Schedule
Standard shift: 8 hours per day, with the potential for occasional overtime based on project timelines and urgency. Workdays are generally scheduled during weekdays, but flexibility is essential due to the nature of construction and maintenance.

Primary work base: 3003 43rd Avenue, Stony Plain, Alberta.
However, the role is mobile and will involve travel across multiple hotel locations in Alberta and British Columbia including top tourist destinations such as Jasper, Canmore and Invermere.

Job Summary
The position of Skilled Construction Labourer is crucial to ensuring that INNHotels’ properties remain modern, safe and inviting. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who’s comfortable rolling up their sleeves and tackling a wide variety of tasks.
Your day-to-day will involve working on renovations, property improvements and repairs at different hotel sites. The tasks will vary – no two days will look the same. You might be painting guest rooms, fixing drywall, replacing light fixtures or installing new plumbing elements.
This job is both dynamic and rewarding and it requires a motivated individual who can think on their feet, adapt to changing priorities and enjoy the satisfaction of seeing tangible results from their efforts.
Core Responsibilities
Your daily duties as a Skilled Construction Labourer at INNHotels will include, but are not limited to:

Executing general renovation and maintenance tasks such as:

Carpentry (e.g., repairing or replacing door frames, trims and baseboards)

Drywall (patching holes, taping, sanding and prepping walls for painting)

Painting (interior and exterior surfaces, using rollers and sprayers)

Basic plumbing (installing sinks, fixing leaks, replacing fixtures)

Light electrical work (changing switches, replacing light fittings, minor wiring)

Traveling to different hotel properties to complete a rotating schedule of repair and maintenance tasks as directed by project management.

Ensuring a clean, hazard-free and organized job site, in alignment with safety standards.

Collaborating closely with the project supervisor, other tradespeople and hotel management to ensure timely completion of each project.

Documenting progress, updating records and sharing job completion reports.

Operating and maintaining hand tools, power tools, ladders and other construction equipment safely and efficiently.

Assisting with material deliveries, lifting items, moving furniture and preparing surfaces when necessary.
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, candidates should ideally meet the following qualifications:

A solid background in carpentry – this is essential as much of the work involves wooden structures, framing and finishing.

Practical knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems and mechanical operations is highly valuable.

At least 1 year of experience in a relevant field such as residential construction, hotel maintenance or general handyman services.

A valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license, along with a clean driving abstract, since the role involves significant travel.

Comfort with extensive travel – this position demands a 100% travel rate and you should be ready to move from site to site as required.

Certification in workplace safety, First Aid or trade-specific credentials (e.g., WHMIS, Fall Protection, Red Seal) is considered an asset but not mandatory.
